Courtside Companion: NBA Compendium

So as a girlfriend of a guy who loves NBA, I want to stay on top of NBA games and news and players. Especially during playoffs. But it’s difficult to do for every single game and it’s not like I can keep tabs on every single playoffs game. And it’s not like after a hard day’s work, I’m going to be winding down catching up on all of today’s game highlights just to stay up to date. As much as I love him, that’s just too much.

It’s also very intimidating to go to NBA.com or any other NBA-related sites because there are so many different metrics and so much NBA lingo that I’m not too familiar with. I don’t really know what I’m looking for.

It’s also whenever we do talk about basketball, sometimes we talk about past seasons and guys seem to have just amazing memory of remembering what happened in what game between what teams in what quarter. There’s just no way I can do that.

So this is my attempt at a solution to try to offload this information from my brain to here. To have an archive of NBA stats in a way that makes sense to me. To the level of depth that I need. I don’t need it to go too deep but I don’t want it too shallow. I am also a sucker for good organization of data so this corner of CasualScroll will be scratching that itch for me.

Like everything on CasualScroll, I don’t claim to be an expert and if you are looking for super detailed stats on every single thing related to NBA, this will not cut it. But maybe this view is interesting for you to reference sometimes!
